Simple Joys

19 Nov

It snowed tonight. Just a bit but this time it stuck to the ground. The lightest dusting, as though God shook out a feather pillow over my corner of the world. And then, as if that faint glow that only happens when it’s snowing wasn’t enough, the clouds cleared away. The ground glimmers with white and the sky is that blue so dark it becomes black. Scattered through the sky, shimmering just as much as the snowflakes, are so many stars they can barely be counted. I can stare out my window, see snow on the trees, gaze at the stars and smell winter in the air. It’s beautiful. Magical. Breathtaking.
